The Lamb That Woke a King
2 Samuel 12:1–7

There are times when God does not confront us with thunder. He comes with a whisper — and sometimes that whisper takes the shape of a little lamb.
Nathan didn’t storm into David’s chamber with accusation. He carried a story — a picture so tender it disarmed a king. A lamb that ate from the man’s own plate, drank from his cup, slept in his arms like a daughter. And suddenly David — warrior, ruler, giant-killer — was undone by gentleness.
The lamb exposed the wound. But it also revealed the love. God was not trying to crush David. He was trying to reach him — to remind him of the shepherd-heart he once carried, to call him back to the tenderness he had abandoned.
That’s why the lamb stays with us. It’s not just a parable — it’s a mirror. A reminder that God often restores us not with force, but with mercy, trotting faithfully beside a man still on the road home.
These all died in faith… having confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
